Mixtape Mondays

It’s hard to believe we have less than three weeks left of this one-of-a-kind year. No matter the trials and tribulations, the lightness and the darkness, the music continues to see us through. This week’s Mixtape Mondays selections are no different, with all the vibes to keep us upful and festive through the holiday season.

DJ Wass – Zap Zap Dancehall Mix 2020

DJ Wass out of St. Mary, Jamaica has released at least one mix per month this year. It’s hard to even keep track on his busy Soundcloud page. Each themed mix does not disappoint, with some of the greatest and most up-to-date tunes all mixed into one. His newest, Zap Zap Dancehall Mix 2020, brings the high-energy vibes whether you’re shopping for gifts, hustling on that daily commute, or cleaning your spot for the season. The mix features Squash’s “Still a Roam,” Dexta Daps’ “Call Me If,” Mavado’s “Legacy” and more of dancehall’s latest bangers. Authentic to the max, stream DJ Wass’s latest mix here:

Excess Global (DJ Junky) – 90s Dancehall Jugglin Vol. 1
All grown people in the dance will have a solid appreciation for ’90s dancehall. Many dancehall fans argue the ’90s produced some of the genre’s greatest works to date. Whether you agree or not, who can forget big riddims such as Joyride and Arab Attack, giving us the quintessential dancehall vibes that will forever keep us lifted. With hits such as Buju’s “Gal Dem Flex” and Wayne Wonder’s “Searching Them Searching”and more classics on the aforementioned Joyride riddim, this one is sure to take you way up memory lane. If this was your decade, this one won’t disappoint! Mixed by Excess Global Sound‘s DJ Junky, stream 90s Dancehall Jugglin Vol. 1 here:

DJ Sensilover – iDGAF Dancehall Live Mixtape

Coming from across the pond in Italy, DJ Sensilover of Irie Soldiers Sound and representing High Life Posse, gives us a solid presentation in the art of, well, not giving a f*@k. iDGAF Dancehall Live Mixtape compiles 2020’s baddest dancehall tunes into 1 hour and 12 minutes of undiluted dancehall freshness. The tape opens with Popcaan’s “Any One a Dem,” featuring Frahcess One, and includes other heavy hits such as Aidonia’s “Numero Uno,” Jahvillan’s “Kentucky,” Skillibeng’s “Crocodile Teeth,” and more.
