Hopefully everyone has had a positive start to the New Year thus far. It’s the first official #MixtapeMondays of 2018 and we’ve got the goods as always. Log on!

Black Widow Sounds, Welcome To Dennery (Dennery Segment): For the first installment of 2018 in the ever-evolving LargeUp Mix Series we take you to St. Lucia to the front lines of the soca wave that’s taken over the island, and got bacchanalists across the Caribbean “split in di middle.” The sound and movement of what’s known as Dennery Segment is fusing energetic Angolan kuduro music with wild drums and Kreyòl lyrics to deliver a fete all its own… We’ve captured the energy right here thanks to DJ Hyper and Black Widow Sounds and this nonstop mix of Lucian soca gems. Check for the full feature on Dennery Segment here, stream and download the mix below.

Private Ryan, Soca Starter 2018 (Preview to Soca Brainwash): Speaking of soca, you can officially call it the beginning of carnival season when the necessary cues reach the world delivered from T&T authority Private Ryan. The first sign is always Soca Starter – the inital preview into all the big tunes and artists that will be championing the road and everywhere else for the year to come – soon followed by Soca Brainwash which is the nail in the coffin for soca lovers throughout the globe. Start getting familiar with this year’s crop below.

Deejay Theory, Guest Mix for Jamie Rodigan on Reprezent Radio: Over the xmas holiday yours truly had the opportunity to link up with our friend Jamie Rodigan on his Reprezent Radio platform out in London. As you might expect I took the liberty of busting some new exclusive remixes and dubplates along with some of the best dancehall, bashment and afrobeats in the rotation at the moment – leading off with Dre Skull’s freshly dropped “Bouff Daddy” remix ft. Popcaan. Can I get a woiyoyyyy. Stream below, tracklist here.
