Hopefully everyone had a wicked halloween weekend (and safely avoided all duppies and vampires). It’s Monday which means new mixes from all over the world here at #MixtapeMondays. Run this weeks offerings below.

DJ Buddha, Caribbean Connection (LargeUp Edition): The latest delivery in the bubbling LargeUp Mix Series catalog comes in from selector/producer DJ Buddha hailing from Massachusetts by way of the Dominican Republic. A melting pot of cultures, pan-Caribbean riddims and tropical heat with an unmistakable backbone in dembow, Buddha fuses Latin and Caribbean sounds like a boss and it’s definitely not a ting you want to pass up. Peep the full tracklist and interview here, stream and download Caribbean Connection (The LargeUp Edition) below.

Tóke x Asia-Afrika Soundsystem, Deh Pon Stereo Vol.2: Speaking of fusing cultures it’s not every day we get a reggae submission from an artist repping Jakarta, but just like that in comes the thing called Deh Pon Stereo Vol.2 from Indonesian vocalist Tóke alongside the Asia-Afrika Soundsystem. Currently based in Germany, Tóke rides some classic versions on this one bridging the gap between reggae and Indonesia with a unique and authentic approach. As Biggie once said, “smell the indoneeeesia”.  Stream and download below, tracklist here.

DJ Treats, Ninja Bike: You know we had to run this here from Brooklyn’s own DJ Treats, being that it’s a dancehall mix strictly regarding bike backs. If the tune involves a motor bike (preferably a Kawasaki Ninja) then best believe it’s on here. Leading off with this sleeper from Tanya Stephens from ’98, the mix touches on new bike back tunes as well from the likes of Charly Black and of course Vybz Kartel. Vroom Vroom!

DJ Crooks, All Aboard: Wrapping things up with some straight, raw, NSFW, up-to-the-time bashment juggled nice and clean by the one DJ Crooks from Los Angeles via Kingston. If you’re looking for all the big new tunes from Kartel, Aidonia, Popcaan, Masicka, the baddest thing from Mavado & Jahmiel plus a slew of dubs and lesser-known artists in dancehall, you’ve come to the right place. This one shot, Crooks. Stream below, tracklist and download here.
