Ambient Psychedelic Gypsy Dub: Get Familiar With the Sound Of Jamaica’s Noah Issa

We have a new premiere for you all and it is “Broken Wings” from Jamaican producer and artist Noah Issa. The track embodies Issa’s unconventional style and approach to the genre of reggae, which we previously got a taste of with his 2016 debut single, “New Stylie.” However, the track breaks some new ground from Issa — who has been producing rhythms and remixes in Jamaica, for artists including Vybz Kartel and Mr. Lexx, since he was 13 years old — as it’s his first to feature his own vocals. “Broken Wings” brings a transcendental feel, with psychedelic notes combined with sounds of the trombone, bass guitar, creating a form of alternative reggae – a sound which Issa himself calls “ambient psychedelic gypsy dub.” The song talks about forbidden love connections, and explores the intimacies we encounter that keep us broken – making it as easy to relate to as it is to listen, while conjuring a chill vibe within. Ensuring that you won’t miss a line in “Broken Wings” is this lyric video. Watch and listen here:
