Romain Virgo x Pink Panther, Lifted Album Sampler

DJ Pink Panther, formerly of Black Kat Sound, mixes this sampler running down all of the tracks off of one of the season’s top new reggae releases, Romain Virgo’s Lifted EP. The pair have a long history — Pink Panther is the selector who made Romain Virgo’s very first dub plate, and he brings a strong viewpoint to the mix, which includes the new single “Fade Away” featuring Assassin.

Safari Sound, Word, Sound and Power Vol. 3: Another crucial roots and culture mix to add to the catalog from the Swedish juggling machines at Safari Sound. The Word, Sound and Power series showcases all the necessary tunes in modern reggae and one drop and always littered with big dubplates and exclusives throughout. Neil Nice x Selectah Dermski Boi, Silks N Bally’s: Wicked ting from NYC’s Neil Nice from Well Versatile Sound in combination again with Selectah Dermski Boi. Inspired by the Biltmore Ballroom era of dancehall in the late 80’s and early 90’s when digital riddims were the soundtrack and Silks N Bally’s were the apparel, this one hits all the right chords around here. Yungg Trip, Future Throwbacks: Debut mixtape from Seattle-based selector/producer Yungg Trip a.k.a Triple Crown from the mighty Blessed Coast sound system. Trip has been extra busy in the lab as of late cooking up remixes with a distinct tropical bass twist. For Future Throwbacks he channels favorites from dancehall’s past that have all been flipped inna new style for the dance. Stream and download below, tracklist here
