Since bursting onto the scene in the 2002, Donae’O has enjoyed widespread success within the U.K., with songs such as “Bounce,” the massive funky house hit “Party Hard” and “Devil In a Blue Dress.” The latter earned him a spot at Glastonbury Festival – one of the world’s biggest music events.

Donae’O’s latest, witty offering “Mami No Like” marks a triumphant return to the forefront. Currently enjoying widespread rotation in UK clubs and on major platforms such as the BBC and Capital XTRA — watch the video here — the track boasts a fusion of Funky House and Afrobeats, with a tinge of Soca.

Speaking of which, the half-Guyanese, half-Ghanaian artist has paid further homage to his roots with official “Mami No Like” remixes for the Caribbean and African markets, respectively. For the reggae remix, he calls upon Jamaican badgyal Ce’cile and viral sensation Gully Bop to bring some bashment vibes to the track.

From the look of things, “Mami No Like” is out to set the summer parties ablaze, particularly with Nottinghill Carnival just around the corner; plus, the song is beginning to make waves in the United States and the Caribbean. As Donae’O commented: “the song is meant to be fun and is made to make you dance”

Definitely one for the ravers.
