Ricky Blaze always seems to locate that sweet spot between reggae, dancehall, EDM, pop and hip-hop with his productions. From the island hop of Gyptian’s “Hold Yuh” to his own collaboration with Shaggy and Kranium, “Overrated,” Ricky’s tracks never sound like just one genre. His latest production is notable not as a departure for Ricky, but for the artist, Munga. The dancehall deejay of “Bad From Mi Born” fame goes all the way in on a hip-hop flow on “Stainless,” a boasy anthem that references Payless Shoes and Snoop’s “Gin and Juice” while emphasizing that Munga is not one to toy with.
