The two premiere ambassadors of Jamaica’s current reggae renaissance, Protoje and Chronixx, first teamed up for the single “Who Knows” a couple months ago, combining their roots revival stylings for the greater good over a Winta James riddim. Now, the duo is back with a Storm Saulter-directed video for the tune that showcases both their classic sound, and the natural beauty of the islands.

The first single off of Protoje’s next album (due out later this year), “Who Knows” is about gratitude–even in those situations where all you can really say is…”who knows.” In the video, Chronixx and ‘Oje, for example, find themselves with a gig at a very festive-looking beach party, but no way to get there after their car breaks down. Solution? Ladies on motorcycles, who give them a very scenic ride around the island, at least until they’re pulled over by the cops (riding backwards doesn’t really seem like the safest idea). In any event, though they have to go quite literally over the river and through the woods, they make it to the party, and in the meantime, we get to see some fantastic footage of Jamaican scenery.

If you want to know more about how Chronixx and Protoje started collaborating (hint: Protoje’s mom is involved), they did a video interview about their work together that you can watch here. Check out the “Who Knows” video below, and don’t forget to mark your calendars to see Chronixx live for free in Central Park this summer!
