RASTA-ROAD-MIXTAPE-FRONTTouching down from a long week in Austin, Texas (peep the full recap from our first SXSW showcase here) we’re back at Mixtape Mondays with more vibes on deck. New roots and one drop meet an iconic dancehall mix from the vaults and some new shellings.

LargeUp Premiere: Green Lion Crew x King Mas, Rasta Road: The big new mix from the good folks at Green Lion Crew just arrived on our doorstep, laced with new unreleased productions, remixes and exclusives, hosted by and featuring the crisp vocals and conscious lyrics of the one King Mas. This is a natural collaboration between two strong camps in modern roots music, with Green Lion busy at the controls producing new riddims and Mas steadily earning supporters with each new tune. Undoubtedly both considered artists and producers to look out for this year, the two put it all together with the Rasta Road mixtape blasting off right here on Mixtape Mondays. Federation Sound, Federation Presents Vybz Kartel – From Time To Time: The CD that started it all just got a re-up thanks to trusty dancehall heavyweights and LargeUp family Federation Sound. The guys have been uploading a heap of their classic mixes to commemorate their 15 year anniversary (look for a full recap post soon) but the latest to hit the digital streets is their first mixtape with Vybz Kartel, an artist Federation has put on since day one. Of course many of us were taken by the ruling of Addi’s murder trial, so it only seemed like the perfect time for this one to drop to reminisce of the beginnings. Federation coming through with a collection of some of the original tunes and dubplates that helped build the legacy of one of dancehall’s baddest and most controversial artists of all time. DJ Autograph, Dancehall Mix March 2o14: New dancehall runnings from NYC bredrin, sick deejay and frequent Throwback Thursday contributor DJ Autograph. Always dipping into different genres with the mixes, it’s been a minute since we’ve seen a strictly dancehall affair from Autograph so this one hits right on time week with some of the tunes still catching forwards at our towers plus a few specials and a heap of new music. Easy download to wrap up this week’s installment. Stream and download below, tracklist here
