Millie Small

Ska singer Millie Small was instrumental in propelling Jamaican music into the international scene with her 1964 hit, “My Boy Lollipop”. One of the first female Jamaican superstars, she caught the attention of a young Island Records’ Chris Blackwell, who placed her on his then Fontana Records label and sent her to England to record the popularized version of the single. β€”Erin Hansen
