Mixtape Mondays: WILDLIFE!, Jugglerz Sound x Protoje

May 28, 2012

Words by DJ Theory —

We’re back at Mixtape Mondays to quickly bless you with some listening pleasure for this Memorial Day holiday. This week, tropical heat and low-end excursions meet one-drop roots and culture, and you have yourself a bubbling soundtrack for your day off—at least for our US friends—and a jumpstart for the week ahead for everybody else. Press play, and vibe out.

WILDLIFE!, Pastiche Mix: Our dude from Switzerland WILDLIFE! just released another heater of an EP, and laced us with a mix to compliment and hype up di ting.  Doing what he does best, the mix coasts through various bass frequencies, with a healthy serving of Caribbean influence right from jump. With the iconic “Dust A Sound Bwoy” intro leading right into his wicked new original “Clappaz” from his new Pastiche EP via incredible Berlin tropical / bass imprint Man Recordings, the rest of the tape breezes through airy tropical vibez with a future twist that should have you wining in your office chair when you get back to work tomorrow. Press play on the stream below and get busy.

Jugglerz Sound x Protoje, Change (Hosted by Protoje): Appropriately named German sound crew and radio hosts Jugglerz make their Mixtape Mondays debut with a solid offering of quality 2012 reggae music hosted by rapidly rising Kingston, JA artist Protoje. With the mix already taking off in Europe, it’s our pleasure to share it here with all of you to help set the tone for your summer BBQ, holiday gathering or pre-dance warmup. In addition to some big tunes and dubs from Protoje, many of our favorite voices in modern reggae can be found here, and DJ’s Meska & Shotta Paul blend it up in fine style for this undeniably feel-good mix.  Stream below, download as one track here, or get the tracked version here.
