A LargeUp Exclusive Webisode – Shot by Martei Korley Words by DJ Gravy
Take a ride with Largeup as we tag along with Dancehall crossover star, Mr. Lexx. Of all JA artists, Lexx has achieved a feat rarely pulled off with such style, maintaining an international presence in various circuits for over a decade, possibly due of his comical, friendly nature, ambitious working ethic and monstrously bass-y voice.
Mr. Lexx takes us on an adventure voicing dubplates (promotional songs endorsing DJs) all around Kingston at famous recording studios… He breaks it down for us, explaining how he’s kept himself in the mix all these years, being a celebrity dad in JA and expressing his excitement at being the only Jamaican artist nominated for a 2009 VMA this past year (for his appearance with Santigold on Major Lazer’s lead single, “Hold The Line”.

Check out Mr. Lexx’s current hit, “Dem A Pree” off Ward 21′s Cosa Nostra Riddim. The song displays Lexx’s playful style and next level lyricism. Enjoy, re-post and repeat!
